This exceptional silver leaf thread was made in Kyoto Nishijin, the historic center of Japan's finest textile craftsmanship.

It is an extremely rare thread that is no longer in production. Once my current inventory is sold, I do not expect to be able to obtain it again.

The core of this thread is hirahaku (flat metallic thread). A traditional gold leaf thread has been twisted together with the hirahaku core to create a unique thread known as Gokukou (極光, meaning "Extreme Brilliance" or "Aurora").

True to its name, the brilliance of this thread is extraordinary. It reflects light with an exceptional sparkle that is difficult to describe.

Unfortunately, it was impossible to capture its true brilliance in photographs. The beauty and intensity of its shine can only be fully appreciated in person.
