This is a festival banner (kenshōhin) used for *danjiri* or *mikoshi*, made from the Edo period to the late Edo period.
The backing is cotton, while the front is made of *rasha* (woolen fabric), which was also used for Edo-period firefighter garments and *jinbaori*. The design features bold, raised embroidery with a strong, dynamic presence. The edges are finished with leather.
As you can see in the photos, it is over 150 years old, so there are signs of age such as wear and some tears in the embroidery. However, considering its age, the overall condition is good.
