These Chirimen silk thread is threads made in Kyoto NISHIJIN.These
thread is very strong.This thread is used for weave & embroidery of kimono & obi.

It is a delicate thread made by wrapping a fine silk thread around a very thin silk tsumugi core thread with almost no twist. It has a unique texture and appearance, but its strength is very weak and it breaks quite easily compared to most silk threads.

Because of its delicate nature, it is best used by combining several strands together or by using a needle with a larger eye to avoid placing too much stress on the thread.
