These wooden thread spools are deadstock items that were originally sold in Japan during the early Showa era, approximately 70–80 years ago.
Each spool was hand-painted, so even spools with the same design have slight differences. The wood grain and natural color of the wood also vary subtly from piece to piece, making every spool unique.
The traditional Japanese motifs include flowers, dragonflies, Mount Fuji, and other classic designs.
