Antique Japanese Nagoya Obi – Taisho to Early Showa Period (c. 1910s–1930s)
This authentic Nagoya obi was made during the Taisho to early Showa period (approximately the 1910s–1930s).
It features breathtaking Japanese hand embroidery depicting elegant flowers and grasses, showcasing the extraordinary skill and artistry of traditional Japanese embroidery craftsmen. The exquisite embroidery is rich in detail and beautifully captures the timeless beauty of nature.
Remarkably, considering its age, the silk fabric has no noticeable stains, discoloration, or damage. Its excellent condition is quite rare for a textile from this period.
It is clear that this obi was carefully treasured and exceptionally well preserved by its previous owner for many decades, making it a wonderful example of antique Japanese textile craftsmanship.
