This Maru Obi is a luxurious vintage obi woven in high-quality Tsuzure-ori (traditional Japanese tapestry weave) during the Taisho period to the early Showa period (approximately the 1910s–1930s).
Creating an obi of this quality would have required a tremendous amount of time, skill, and craftsmanship.
The intricate pattern continues from one end of the obi to the other on both sides, making it fully decorated throughout. The design features a variety of traditional Japanese motifs, including pine trees, a royal ox cart (gosho-guruma), and traditional Japanese musical instruments.
As shown in the photos, there are a few light stains in some of the plain areas. However, considering its age, I believe the overall condition is very good.
