Japanese Ro Silk Bolts Black / Hamayashi Dyeing 17501

This silk bolt is a traditional Japanese kimono fabric intended for making a kimono.

The fabric is made of Ro silk, a lightweight and airy woven fabric traditionally worn during the summer months in Japan. Ro is characterized by its distinctive open-weave structure with sheer horizontal bands (sukashi), which allow air to circulate through the fabric. This creates a light, breathable texture that is ideal for hot summer weather while maintaining an elegant and refined appearance.

The fabric is exceptionally soft and pleasant to the touch.

The white circular areas on the fabric were intentionally left undyed to allow family crests (kamon) to be added.

The condition is excellent and appears to be as good as new, with no noticeable flaws.
